What is Astrology?

Astrology has been around for thousands of years, originating in Mesopotamia, and up until the 17th century, it was studied and practiced around the world. It was often used as an important part of decision-making and guidance in life, both for personal matters as well as the governing of groups.

It adheres to the adage, As above, so below, with the understanding that we are truly made of stars. This idea precedes modern science in the West, which became reductionist and materialistic, with the strong influence of thinkers like Darwin and Newton. However, scientists today are beginning to embrace this concept again, thanks to quantum physics and astro-physics, amongst other growing areas of study.

Astrology is the study of patterns in human beings, both individually and collectively, that mirror the archetypal qualities of the planets in the sky - from our Sun and Moon, to the far reaches of Neptune and Pluto.

Why would someone get an astrology reading?

Many people will seek out an astrologer for a few reasons: either to get an in-depth reading of their natal chart - the map of the sky at the exact time and location of one’s birth, which offers much insight into the workings of the individual psyche, both the gifts and the challenges; or with a specific question in mind, concerning events, experiences, in one’s life, past, present or future, or a part of themselves they wish to understand more.

Carl Jung is known to have said, “psychology will be a dinosaur science until it includes astrology,” and he used astrological charts in his own sessions with clients.

There are also many astrologers who offer ‘forecasts’ geared more towards the collective energies at play in the world, and how this is apt to affect groups of people and countries, as well as the planet. Much can be learned by observing the cyclical nature of the celestial patterns in the sky, and applying them to the patterns of our evolving civilizations.

What can I expect from a session?  What do I need to do to prepare for it?

What kind of astrology sessions are offered at CLINIC?

An introductory astro dive is offered, which includes a shorter, 30 minute session, giving you a little taste of what a full natal chart reading might offer.

The natal birth chart reading is a more in-depth, 75 minute exploration of your birth chart, including a discussion of the strongest planetary signatures in the sky at the time of your birth, and what that means in terms of your character, your life lessons, both the gifts and the challenges. Current happenings in the sky that might affect you personally are also explored.

A returning astrology reading is also available for those who have already had a natal reading at CLINIC, and this provides an opportunity to explore a specific question or life area that you are seeking some help with, another perspective, and a way to work with the energies at play.

For the astrology aficionados and spiritual seekers, a seasonal astrology package is offered, offering a special of four sessions a year. This will allow you the chance to check in seasonally with your astrologer, and get your own ‘astrological forecast’ for the season, and how the current happenings are apt to affect you personally.

With all of these services, an exact birth time is recommended, though not required.

Appointments can occur in person at CLINIC Alternative Medicines, or online over Zoom. Online sessions will be recorded, and the recording sent to you afterwards. You are welcome and encouraged to record any in person sessions, for future replay. It can be a lot to digest at one time!
